A:  Note that your icon should ideally be a 48x48 pixel TIFF file saved with an alpha channel.  Actually, the icon can be larger than 48x48—it just gets scaled down.  Note that if the dimensions of your TIFF file are not square, bizarre looking icons can result.  Performance may also degrade, based on the time needed to read the TIFF file in from disk.\
